about
Three years after Unclosing, Brock Tyler breaks his silence with a happy-shiny new single and a brand new voice!
"Meeting You For The First Time" was originally commissioned for inclusion in a short film by director Brett Gitzel. A simple tune with hints of gypsy jazz and an old-time flair, it muses about seeing a new side to someone you’ve known for a long time - friend, family member, neighbour, mechanic, falafel house worker - which in turn makes you consider them in a different light (these revelations are so vague).
Unabashedly upbeat and lighthearted, this infectious little ditty is sure to cause a stir among all demographic groups, prompting listeners over 60 to tap their toes whilst triggering mass confusion among hipster purists everywhere.
lyrics
I know you and everything you do
And everything that you don't I thought I knew it too
But now it's come undone
You know, it's kinda fun
To be meeting you for the first time
When we first met there was nothing to get
Except a little bit older and further apart
But now the day's been seized
And I am mighty pleased
To be meeting you for the first time
We've been so off track, pots calling kettles black
The hands of our hearts were tied behind our backs
So come shake with me
Well, when your hands are free
I'm meeting you for the first time
